
With abundant teaching resources and versatile student learning environment, another golden decade for Ming Chuan University is being created through combining resources from industry, government, academia and research. In order to enhance dialogue with industry, MCU president launched Big Enterprise Project in 2014 to encourage Schools to connect the power of faculty research and take full advantage of staff expertise and innovative technologies. The Innovation and Industry-academia Collaboration Division was established to handle such academia-industry cooperation affairs.
The mission of the Division is to support the Big Enterprise Project with innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship and assist to match faculty members’ expertise with relevant industries. The emergence of electronic commerce in recent years and the I2E business mode of idea, innovation and entrepreneurship have boosted micro-enterprise discussions. Starting from 2015-16 AY, an e-commence platform selling products of MCU Product Innovation Center has been established; students may complete a practicum through starting a business using this platform. Meanwhile, through academia-industry cooperation, cooperating instructors from the industry are recruited to brainstorm, stimulate how those in the industry sell and improve their products, and guide learning on the innovation and creation process from the commercial perspective. Cooperating companies provide real experiences through internships and job opportunities for excellent students to implement the MCU educational development theme of “Localization of Global Knowledge, Globalization of Local Knowledge” and “Industrialization of knowledge, Knowledge-based industry,” to achieve the MCU goal of helping students to smoothly enter the job market upon graduation.

Originally established in June 1987 as Ming Chuan Junior Women's Commercial College Co-operative Education Committee, the Continuing Education Center and Co-operative Education Center were set up in the year following Ming Chuan’s promotion to senior college status in 1990. In September 1992, the two Centers were integrated as Continuing and Co-operative Education Center. On February 1, 1997, the unit was re-named Co-operative and Continuing Education Center, and later as University Extension Division. On June 1, 2017, it was integrated with Innovation and Academia-industry Collaboration Division and renamed as Academia-industry Collaboration and University Extension Division until today.
In line with university affairs development on Taoyuan campus and the need for continuing education in Taoyuan area, on June 1, 2002, the University Extension Education Division Service Counter was set up under the Public Relations Office on Taoyuan campus, to facilitate offering credit and non-credit program for residents of Taoyuan area. The main office of the Division moved from Taipei campus to Jihe Complex at 3F, No. 130, Jihe Road, Taipei City on February 6, 2007, in order to serve the public with new e-classrooms in a refined, internationalized learning environment.

Strive to become a “Professional Capacity Training and Community Education” Center in the life-long learning educational system of society; Implement the educational philosophy of MCU: “Attending to all students with parental care, support, and guidance;” pursue the educational goals of Excellence, Professionalism, and Internationalization

Plan and introduce professional training programs; Promote life-long learning concepts; Introduce the notion of putting knowledge into use and promoting professional workplace capacity

In order to implement MCU’s vision and mission in light of internal and external environment, the main strategies are drafted as follows:
- Introduce quality programs for specific professional groups to elevate professional work-place capacity
- Develop professional skill courses to assist current students to acquire certificates for entering the job market
- Create a learning environment for students to learn together, exchange ideas, and establish life-long learning community
